Do download links expire?

Yes, download links sent in purchase will expire after some time which can be set. Once expired it cannot be used again.

As per default settings the download links are valid for 24 hours. You can adjust the expiration time, follow the steps given below to adjust the time. 

• Open Downloads then Settings. 
• Click on Misc the File Downloads page, you will see Download Link Expiration as shown in the picture below. Adjust the time as you want. 

Why do download links expire?

The download links expire to prevent someone from sharing their links in a public forum. Any link can be accessed by anyone till it expires. This is done to prevent log term piracy that can harm your store. 

If the link is expired the customer can get a fresh link if they want to download again. They can easily do it by logging in to their account or you can re-send their purchase receipt email to them on the Order screen in wp-admin.
